ABOUT DIRTEK
Dirtek Excavation and Training is a company based in Sydney that provides training and assessment services for the civil construction industry.
We specialise in assessing operators on site that have previous experience but not have the required operator tickets. We do this efficiently to cater for the operators specific work specialisation.
We deliver TAFE level qualifications that are nationally recognised machinery tickets which do not expire. These tickets replace the previous WorkCover operator licences.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Course durations vary depending on the following factors:
- Level of prior experience
- Qualification you are completing
- Number of students in class
The majority of our courses run between 3 to 6 days. For experienced operators, this process is a lot quicker.
Upon completion of your enrolment form and before commencing training, your trainer will ask you to provide 100 points of identification. This is to prove that you are who you are and that our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) are issuing a nationally accredited certification to the right person.
Dirtek Excavation & Training have access to a number of different machines ranging from small 1.5 tonne excavators through to large haul trucks and graders. These machines are brought in on hire to complete training programs. Alternatively, we are able to offer training on your site if you have access to the appropriate equipment.
The cost of training depends on what machine/s you are looking to gain a competency for. Courses range from $500.00 to $3000.00 depending on the machine.
Group discounts / corporate bulk enrolment discounts are offered.
The style of training we deliver does not require a “pass” or “fail” type assessment. We prefer to use the terms “competent” or “not yet competent”. If you are found to be not yet competent, we are able to either schedule a re-assessment or allocate more time for training.
As long as you have all the right equipment and it is safe and compliant, our trainers are able to attend any site in Australia to conduct training. Any sites outside of the Sydney metro district will incur a travel & accommodation fee.
Group discounts are definitely offered and we encourage you to grab a mate to train with! Learning these machines can sometimes be difficult for some, therefore having a mate or work colleague with you to go through all the steps may make it a quicker and easier process for you!
